Ian Ponsford began his professional journey after graduating from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in the United Kingdom. From 1977-1993 Ponsford worked as a freelance trombonist, performing in classical orchestras, West End shows, recording studios, European tours and cruise ships.
After traveling to over 30 countries, Ponsford developed a passion for food and wine. He married an American actress and they settled down in New York City where Ponsford accepted the position of a bar manger and wine buyer for a chain of Italian restaurants.
Years later, Ponsford moved to the Naples area and took the position of Sommelier at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort. After many accomplishments, he became Sommelier at the Club at Mediterra. Ponsford is now the Sommelier for Gordon’s on the River, where he has hand chosen a superb wine list for the restaurant.
Please stop into Gordon’s on the River and have Ian Ponsford select a wonderful wine for your next meal.

Naples Harbour invites you to visit us at the Naples Boat Show today, January 26 through Sunday, January 29.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is located at 100 Goodlette Road South, Naples, FL 34102
We will be doing daily gas give-aways and a grand prize of two social memberships!

Naples Harbour is making improvements! We are adding a new Tarmac and expanding our launch dock!
Construction will commence today, January 16 and continue until April 1, 2012.
Naples Harbour will remain operational, however small delays may be encountered during peak times.

The 7th Annual Florida Keys Seafood Festival is on Saturday, January 14 from 11a.m.-8 p.m., at Bayview Park (corner of Truman Avenue & Jose Marti Drive) make sure you come out and say hello to Key West Harbour and the Tropical Breeze Casino Boat!
Published Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 On Tuesday, January 3, 2012 Gordon’s on the River hosted a Ribbon Cutting Dinner. Members and City Officals were asked to attend the event at 5:30 p.m. to “welcome” Gordon’s on the River home!
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful food and wine at Gordon’s on the River.
